AI Songs Flood Music Streaming Platforms
Music streaming service Deezer has revealed that AI-generated songs make up a significant portion of its daily uploads. According to the company, nearly 75,000 AI-made tracks are uploaded every day, accounting for around 44% of total uploads.
This staggering number translates to approximately 2 million flagged songs per month, with over 13.4 million detected as AI-generated across 2025. Deezer attributes this surge to its patent-pending AI music detection tool, launched in January 2025, which can identify AI-generated music from popular tools like Suno and Udio.
Despite the rise of AI music on the platform, only about 1-3% of total streams involve AI-generated tracks, with most marked as fraudulent and demonetized. Deezer claims its tool is effective in detecting AI-made music, which has led some record labels to partner with these startups.
The use of AI-generated music raises concerns about the authenticity and value of creative work. While it’s undeniable that AI tools have streamlined music production, they also pose challenges for artists and industry professionals.
Other music streaming platforms are taking steps to address this issue by implementing their own verification tools. Coda Music, for instance, labels AI-generated tracks as ‘AI Artist’ and allows users to flag suspicious accounts. As the line between human-created and AI-made music blurs, it’s essential to explore the implications of this shift on the industry and its stakeholders.
